To change and dismantle: the relationship between archaeology and Sámi culture. This paper will discuss the power archaeology holds over the history written about a cultural heritage. The purpose of the essay is to highlight the subordinate role of Sámi culture in Swedish society. The goal is therefore to describe how archeological practice and the Swedish colonization of Sápmi changed the development of Sámi culture. Thus is the aim of this essay to investigate whether archaeology can be used to help form or ruin a cultural heritage. This essay has discovered that archaeology still does not truly know how to take Sámi cultural heritage into consideration in its work, and are therefore still painting a false picture about the history of the Sámi culture.en
