It provides an opportunity to study how a city grows and changes and what challenges and opportunities this entails. This study aims to investigate the inclusion of children and young people's needs in connection with the project's planning process based on the concepts of child-friendly city and participation. The result shows a need for increased commitment in terms of implementing the concept of a child-friendly city as well as a need for a more inclusive dialogue process with the city's children and young people. The study contributes to a deeper understanding of the opportunity children and young people have to experience and interact with their urban environment.Masthuggskajen genomgår nu en omfattande omvandling från industrihamn till en modern stadsdel med bostäder, kontor, parker och kulturinslag. Det ger en möjlighet att studera hur en stad växer och förändras och vilka utmaningar och möjligheter detta medför. Denna studie syftar till att undersöka inkluderandet av barn och ungas behov i samband med projektets planeringsprocess utifrån begreppen barnvänlig stad och delaktighet. Resultatet visar ett behov av ökat engagemang vad gäller implementerandet av konceptet barnvänlig stad samt ett behov av en mer inkluderande dialogprocess med stadens barn och unga.
