    Att lindra procedursmärta hos barn genom distraktion

    Barn genomgår många procedurer i sjukvården, som till exempel venprovtagning och omläggning av sår. Detta kan vara smärtsamt och orsaka långsiktigt lidande hos barnet. Denna så kallade procedursmärta är ofta underbehandlad. Det är viktigt att behandla och förebygga den för att minimera negativa effekter. Forskning visar att distraktion har stora positiva effekter på barnets smärtupplevelser. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka fyra selektivt utvalda distraktionsmetoder för att se vilken effekt de har på barnets smärtupplevelse. Uppsatsen är gjord som en litteraturöversikt och visar att de valda metoderna är effektiva vid lindring av procedursmärta hos barn. Dessa metoder kan användas för att minska barnets rädsla, som utgör en stor del av barnets smärtkomponent. Störst effekt tycks de distraktionsmetoder ha som kräver aktivt deltagande från barnet. Denna typ av interventioner ingår i sjuksköterskans omvårdnadsarbete och grundprincipen går att tillämpa i det dagliga arbetet även med små medel.

    Communication or separation? The Role of Grammar in grade 9 English teaching materials Göteborg

    This study aims to investigate how grammar is dealt with in teaching materials for grade 9 English and also to investigate how well adjusted the currently used teaching materials are to the new curriculum Lgr11. Three teaching materials from three different publishers are analysed, Magic, Time and Wings. The primary focus of the survey is if grammar is dealt with in the materials in a way which corresponds to today´s language research and if these materials will be useful also after the implementation of Lgr11. The analysis shows that, to some extent, grammar is dealt with differently from other aspects of language learning and that this is not recommended by language researchers. It is also clearly shown that the teaching materials can be used together with Lgr11 if some adjustments are made. Magic is the book which would then require the most adjustments.

    Foreign Currency Denominated Debt as a Hedging Instrument - A Case Study on AstraZeneca Ltd, Nestl´e S.A. and SKF AB

    In the current global economic environment post-crisis, the area of managing foreign exchange rate exposure becomes increasingly eminent. The recent turmoil has shown that there is a wide variety of ways trying to mitigate risk exposure. One aspect that caught the authors’ attention is the choice of currency composition of global companies’ liability portfolios. This thesis is written in order to examine how corporations use strategic hedg- ing and especially foreign debt to hedge economic exposures. The process of this case study includes providing an estimation of the current situation based solely on public information for three corporations within three different industries in terms of currency debt structure, revenue breakdown by currency and net expo- sure by currency. What will be shown is that due to different factors, the extent of foreign debt usage will vary between the corporations. With support of eco- nomic and financial theory together with our empirical overview, we evaluate the current disposition of the corporations’ liability portfolios and if possible argue for adjustments.

    Future profitability in the online poker industry - A case study of 24hPoker -

    Executive summary During the previous years, poker played on the internet has grown rapidly and companies operating in the industry have made large profits. Although, recently different signs indicates that the industry may face problems in the future. Increased costs, stagnation in the main markets as well as regulatory changes are all problems that have been evident for the companies operating in the industry. This thesis investigates the requirements needed to reach profitability in the industry and if 24hPoker, listed on the OMX, fulfil these requirements. Theoretical findings together with empirical material gathered from interviews have been linked and resulted in a branch analysis of the online poker industry. The branch analysis has been combined with the analysis of 24hPoker and has given a statement about the company’s future possibilities as well as a valuation of the company. The analysis of the industry has shown that some of the most important requirements for a company operating in the online poker industry are high player liquidity, large marketing resources, a user-friendly software and good customer support. The outcome of the thesis is that 24hPoker has what is required for future profitability, mainly because they act both as a gaming operator and a service provider. The part where 24hPoker act as a gaming operator is predicted to be the most important part for the company in the future, mainly because this product is more competitive compared to its rivals than the service provider part which will be more difficult to profile. The share value of 24hPoker is estimated to be slightly undervalued.

    Teamwork makes the dreamwork

    Kooperativt lärande, gruppdynamik, lärarens roll och ledarskap, idrott och hälsa Abstract Idrottsundervisningen präglas av sociala interaktioner som kan påverka elevernas delaktighet, trivsel och motivation. Gruppdynamik spelar därmed en avgörande roll för hur elever upplever undervisningen, vilket framkallar behovet av att förstå lärarens ledarskap i detta sammanhang. Syftet med denna forskningsöversikt är att analysera vetenskapliga artiklar om hur lärarens ledarskap och kooperativa undervisningsmetoder kan bidra till en positiv gruppdynamik i ämnet idrott och hälsa. En systematisk sökning och analys över ämnet resulterade i 13 artiklar som noggrant har granskats. Resultatet visar att lärarens ledarskap, särskilt i form av transformativt ledarskap, har stor inverkan på elevgruppens sociala klimat. Kooperativa undervisningsmetoder, såsom strukturerade gruppövningar samt gemensamt ansvar, visade sig öka elevengagemang, samarbetsförmåga och känslan av tillhörighet. Dock identifieras även utmaningar såsom ojämn arbetsfördelning där det sker en ökad belastning hos elever med hög kunskapsnivå, men även svårigheter att genomföra dessa metoder i större elevgrupper. Forskningsöversikten bidrar med en inblick om att lärare behöver arbeta med ett medvetet ledarskap och sociala inkluderingsmetoder i idrottsundervisningen. Detta ligger i linje med skolans uppdrag gällande Lgr22, som pekar på behovet av vidare forskning och praktiskt stöd för lärare i arbete med gruppdynamik och värdegrundsarbete i skolan
