Kentatur En medhjälpare i ett mobilt fordon
Sammanfattning
The author of this master thesis has made an empirical field study at the company taxi service for the disabled (in Swedish “Färdtjänsten”) in Gothenburg. The company’s mission is to transport people who not can use the public means of transport as ferry, tramcar or bus. The taxi service for the disabled is responsible for the administrative tasks like receive order of journeys and support (the traffic control) the taxi driver, who is transport the people, when problem arise. The taxi driver is a mobile worker who is working alone and has a few aids for disposal. These aids, mobitex, atlas and cellular telephone/radio help the driver to perform his/her assignments, i.e. transport people. The study showed that the aids are not enough efficient, which means that the driver needs to get help from the traffic control, which can
take time. Furthermore the study showed that the taxi driver can not get information when he/she wants to continue his/her work, the mobitex storage capacity is insufficient and the driver must make place for the mobitex. With empirical field studies and theoretical
framework in the areas mobility, mobile computer supported cooperative work (mobile cscw)and mobile design has four design implications, and also an architecture, suggest for the taxi drivers who may do their work more easily.
