| dc.description | Sveriges landskap har en lång historia som går hela vägen tillbaka till forntiden. Fram till 1600-talet verkade landskapen som egna riken i landet Sverige. Landskapen hade en egen kung och följde egna lagar. När länen bildades och övertog rätten att bestämma lokalt, förlorade landskapen sin egentliga funktion. Trots det lever landskapen kvar i bland annat hantverk, symboler och dialekter.
Det finns en uppsjö av produkter som kommunicerar våra landskap eller olika delar av Sverige. Ofta är det souvenirer, som skvallrar om en snabb produktionsprocess och ett onyanserat formspråk.
Målet med Hem ljuva hem har varit att skapa produkter som kontrasterar de befintliga på marknaden. Det har resulterat i mönster för textil och tapet för fyra av Sveriges landskap. Mönsterna har som ambition att kännas nutida, utan att landskapens historiska ursprung går förlorat. Det är ett försök att uppdatera den bildvärld som vanligtvis används för att profilera landskapen.
Projektet har som syfte att lyfta fram landskapens olika karaktärer och samtidigt uppmärksamma att landskapen kan erbjuda ett sammanhang vi kan välja att identifiera oss med och känna att vi tillhör. En plats att längta hem till. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The history of the provinces (landskap) in Sweden goes all the way back to prehistoric times. Provinces were like independent states until the 17th century. They had their own kings and rules. When the counties (län) were introduced and got the power and rights to decide locally – the provinces lost their formal functions. In spite of this – provinces are very much alive today in terms of handicraft, symbols and dialects.
There is a whole array of products on the market that communicates different provinces, parts and areas of Sweden. Quite often it is souvenirs with a short production process and a thin and vague design.
The objective of Home sweet home has been to create something that is a contrast to the products available. The result is four different patterns for wallpaper and textiles, for four different provinces. The patterns have an ambition to be contemporary without losing the origin and heritage of the provinces. It is an attempt to update the world of images that presently are used to create a profile for the different provinces.
The purpose of this project is to visualize unique characters of the provinces, and at the same time make us aware that provinces offer a context that we can choose to identify with and feel as a part of. To long for home. | en |
