The purpose of this study was to investigate the results obtained from scientific articles concerning research into group rehabilitation for people over 65 years with hearing problems. The interest arose then group rehabilitation was unusual in the audiologists work, even though previous research showed these positive effects. With a group rehabilitation, the participants can easier accept theire hearing loss and hearing aid, compaired with an individual rehabilitation. The method used was a literature study. PubMed and PsycINFO databases were used in the search for literature. Some articles were searched from selected scientific studies reference lists and also advice from the supervisor. The results show that group rehabilitation is an good method for audiologists to use. Meeting other participants could be a way for the patient to easier accept and get a better understanding of their hearing situation. They also get an increased awareness and better selfconfidence. The conclusion showed that it is good to learn the patients communication strategies and give them homework. Likewise it is important to create an individual goal with the patient to get a successful result. Furthermore, the results show on an increased quality of life and decreased experience of hearing handicap in the short term. Another study of group rehabilitation only had seen a little change in experience of hearing handicap. As well as a more positive attitude, group members had a more realistic expectation of the performance on the hearing aid, compared with people who only had received an individual rehabilitation. If the group members use their hearing aid more than others, is not detected improved. The participants in the group allowed each other to be adapted to their hearing handicap and maybe is it easier when they meet others and recognice that they are not alone about their situation.en
