This essay analyses and explores where in the suspense of Pat Barker´s Border Crossing lies. The main focus is on the protagonist, i.e. Tom Seymour´s perspective of Danny Miller, the catalyst character of the story. The scope is to determine if the suspense lies in Tom´s perspective, which comprises both doubts and hopes. The approach of the essay is that of narratology, chosen in order to analyse the narrator´s role in creating the suspense of the novel.sv
