Utvärdering av AKKTIV föräldrautbildning: föräldrars bedömningar av barnens kommunikativa utveckling
Abstract
This study investigates, through parental evaluations, communicative
and adaptive abilities within a group of children with various developmental
disorders, after the parents had participated in AKKTIV (Augmentative and
Alternative Communication – Early Intervention) parental education. The study
also investigates through case studies how parents experience the influence of
AKKTIV-intervention in their children’s development a few years after
completion. The parents estimated their children’s abilities using three different
questionnaires; the Swedish Communicative Developmental Inventories
(SECDI), Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales-II (VABS-II) and parts of the
form” Parents’ perception of the interaction with their child”, before and after
the intervention. Data from the questionnaires were statistically analysed using
paired-sample t-tests. The parents’ experiences of the influence of the AKKTIVintervention
were also investigated through interviews. The results, showed that
the children had increased their communicative abilities significantly on the
SECDI form and on the receptive domain of VABS-II. Communication had
along with socialisation developed to a higher extent than other adaptive
functions. The overall experience reported by the parents in the case study was
that the change after AKKTIV had been positive.
