Utvärdering av Komm-A, en modell för arbete med kommunikationsbok för personer med afasi i logopedisk verksamhet

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate Komm-A, a model for using communication books in clinical practice for people with aphasia. The study consisted of two group studies and one case study. One of the group studies had a pretest-posttest design and consisted of nine couples; a person with aphasia and his/her communication partner. The material used was Quality of communication life scale (QCL), Communicative effectiveness index (CETI), Goal attainment scaling (GAS), and a questionnaire to the communication partner. The other group study consisted of seven speech-language pathologists who worked with the couples according to the Komm-A model. The material used was a questionnaire and a group interview. The case study consisted of two interviews, one with a couple and one with their speech-language pathologist. The results showed that the Komm-A model is a well-functioning intervention in clinical practice for persons with aphasia, even though some change may be needed. It was found that the communication partner was satisfied with the intervention and that some positive change in communication was seen for the persons with aphasia.
