The main purpose of the study was to collect norm data for
Communication Attitude Test for Preschool and Kindergarten Children Who
Stutter (KiddyCAT) for Swedish children. Sub purposes of the study were to
examine if the results on KiddyCAT vary depending on age and gender and
examine the reliability and validity for the Swedish version of KiddyCAT. In
the study 119 children without known stuttering, 3:1–6:11 years, from
different preschools in Gothenburg city participated. Neither significant
correlation between results on KiddyCAT and age nor a significant
difference between the genders was found. The mean values for the Swedish
children were lower than the mean values for the American children. The
study shows that KiddyCAT should be used cautiously and seen as a
complement to other assessments. The paper provides suggestions for further
