Description of project
General: Strategies of Magic is a lecture performance which discusses the concept of magic in relation to political and philosophical questions regarding power structures, hierarchies of knowledge, identity and gender. Here, the lecture is intertwined with poetry, music and magic where the purpose is to reveal rather than disguise the trick. Through the examination of the difference between trickery and transformation, this piece aims to bring out the human potential of making the impossible possible.
Strategies of Magic #3:
A further development of concept, introducing new texts, magic tricks and poems. Like in #1, the performace consisted in two parts and featured Stine Marie Jacobsen as the magicians assistant.
