Strategies Of Magic #6 took place in the intimate atmosphere of the bar Senti in Berlin, and had a more informal nature than the previous editions. For this performance we had developed the role of the assistant to be more assertive, rebellious and independent and we experimented with the interaction and division of power between assistant and Illusionist. This show focused on the perpertual circle of building up and tearing down that constitutes human activity. This was manifested in the magic tricks we performed, such as Thomas’ careful sweeping the pieces of a chrystal vase I have broken from the floor against the musical background of Gainsbourgs/Birkins “Je T’Aime” and in my sawing a woman in half, producing two as a result. We had also kept and expanded the concept of translation in this show, having Thomas transform the excerpts from my diary that I read from a burning book into a numeric code. As in previous editions, we used a mix between well known music productions as well as pieces written specially for Strategies Of Magic by artist and musician Cecilie Beck Kronborg.
