Chef, medarbetare och kamratskap, hur hanteras balansen? - Två fallbeskrivningar utifrån erfarenheter i olika branscher
Sammanfattning
The examination is focusing on the person who is working in the supervising position in a company. Two different case studies performed with qualitative interviews. One case study is in the service industry and the other case study is in the manufacture industry. The aim with this study is to bring greater understanding to the eventual problems of identity that a supervisor can
experience because of his/her working position boarder between groups. This considering three roles of the supervisor; one role as a
supervisor, one role as a colleague and one role as a friend. The focus lies in two questions; does the supervisor want to be a part of the fellowship among colleagues, why or why not? How can the supervisor balance between roles to be a part/not be a part of the fellowship among colleagues and at the same time act in his/her professional role as a supervisor? In the studies is both the telling of the supervisor and the colleagues included. The result is that the supervisor is feeling differently about being a part of the fellowship or not. Those who want to be a part of the fellowship need it because the work is so tight together, or want it because otherwise they will feel alone or be bored in their work. Those who don’t want to be a part of the fellowship among colleagues feel this because they feel that they can’t be a part of the fellowship because of their position and because it would make them vulnerable in their profession. The supervisors don’t balance between the roles but choose a major role for the majority of situations and after that flex into another role depending on situation.
