Fysträning för ishockeyspelare

En korrelationsstudie mellan styrkeövningar och skridskoåkning

Sammanfattning
To become a successful athlete requires several different components in which one of the most significant is the ability to develop their own physical strenght. What weight exercises has the best transfer effects for skating? Participants in the study were 20 male senior hockey players from Div. II in the Västra Gö- talands Regionen in which all participants had at least 10 years of hockey experience. Test subjects had to perform a five-minute individual warm up followed by an opportunity to familiarize with the upcoming exercise. The first on-ice test was a 35 meters sprint test and the second test was an S-cornering agility test. Off-ice tests were squat, vertical jump and power clean. The final 1RM result was the best before failing at three failures in a row at a higher weight. The relationship between the two ice-tests, sprint and agility shows that there is a significant relationship which means that the faster the players are in the sprint the faster they are in the agility-test. The results revealed a highly significant correlation between sprint and squat demonstrating the leg strengths impact on performance regarding maximum sprint. The re- sults between sprint and power clean also had a highly significant correlation, this shows that the results of previous studies on Olympic lifting transferability to sprint on bare ground also is relevant to sprint on ice. The results showed that 1RM squat was the test that correlated most strongly with sprint on ice. Therefore, a large part of the physical training will focus on developing peak bone strength and thereby develop maximum athletic performance.
