dc.description.abstract | When living in a small apartment one of the greatest challenges is to make to most out of the available space. Several different furniture are used for different purposes.
Another issues arise when having people
over, which requires additional space and
seats. On this basis, the project builds on
creating a flexible combination furniture with
multiple
purposes.
The
goal
is
to
make
a
piece
of
furniture
that
fills
a
certain
need
while
not
creating
just
another
furniture
used
for
a
single
purpose.
The
ambition
is
further
to
make
chairs,
shelves
and
sideboards
to
speak
the
same
design
language
and
work
well
together.
Furthermore,
this
project
aims
to
understand
and
learn
how
a
design
process
can
be
carried
out
from
thorough
and
methodical
research
to
the
finished
product.
The
project
also
involved
exploring
changeability
and
understanding
what
this
could
do
with
a
piece
of
furniture.
The
result
is
a
piece
of
furniture
that
is
primarily
used
as
a
bookcase
but
can
be
easily
rearranged
into
a
seating
area
if
needed.
The
model
has
been
realized
through
a
physical
prototype
which
readiness
is
close
to
the
final
design. | sv |
