The Lake

Abstract

The purpose of “The Lake” was to create an experience with music and visuals working with no budget. A personal purpose was that I wanted to explore new areas in design, like scenography, and combine them with my previous knowledge and skills. My method was to keep my hands busy at all times and use new materials. I also wanted to work with other creators and learn from their methods. Together with a musician I created the music and the concept for the project. I then added a make up artist and two models to make it all happen. The idea that a song contains a world by itself, a parallell universe, kickstarted the whole project. We imagined a lake within us, in our soul and subconsciousness, where your persona and your self could meet. Another theme that we carried with us in our process was the thought of dept in the shallow and darkness in the light. The result of the project is an installation where the video is projected upon several walls while the music is streaming from speakers.
