Tidens långsamhet och livets flykt

Time’s Slowness and Life’s Swiftness

Abstract
Through its richness of detail and clarity, the photograph creates a presence that bridges both time and space, but photographic realism also risks locking the picture into the immediately discernible strata of existence and lulling the viewer into a sense of overview and participation. For that reason, it is important to regard photographic pictures both curiously and critically: this applies, not least, to photography in the cultural-historical context.
