Time’s Slowness. Life’s Swiftness.
Summary
The exhibition examined the cultural historical museums use of photography, both historically and today. More than twenty photographers were included.
Description of project
The exhibition was initiated by curator Niclas Östlind and produced by Västerbottens museum in Umeå. A large photograph (2,5 x 5 m) of the museums storage was included in the exhibition to highlight the importance of the archival aspect of the photographical practise in the context of the culture historical museums. The selection of works and the presentation exemplified how photographs have been collected and exhibited since the 1960s until today, and it also included photographers who successfully work cross the borders between the art field and cultural heritage context.
