Lightweight Scenario Planning for Human-Computer Interaction Technologies in the Next 5-7 Years

Sammanfattning
Consumer-oriented technologies have continued evolving and drawn attention to human-computer interaction. Implementing such technologies in a company requires extensive future planning. This study presents scenario planning and investigates the possible future development of three of the current technology trends in human-computer interaction. We applied action research for identifying the most influential factors behind the technologies. The analysis revealed four categories of factors. Based on the two factors with highest impact and uncertainty level, four plausible scenarios were created. This study provides insights about the plausible future of human-computer interaction technologies, which can be used as input for a company’s long-term planning.
