Motivation is by many considered to be a crucial factor when learning a language. However, motivation is also a complex psychological system. Hence, motivation in language learning also generates a series of questions. This review considers the possibilities of enhanced motivation in Contentbased Learning Projects (CBLP). CBLP is used as an umbrella term for Content Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), Content-based Instruction (CBI) and Project-based learning (PBL), which are all considered in the review. Definitions considering immersion, CLIL, CBI, PBL, motivation as well as language learning theories of motivation are included. The research overview presents research conducted in the field of motivation and CBLP. Moreover, the results from the research are examined and described. The results show positive effects on the enhancement of motivation, however, with a few exceptions. Finally, suggestions for future research are put forth.sv
