Learning Spanish teaching manuals are often one of the first contacts with Hispanic culture for the students. Spanish is supposed to be a communicative subject, meaning that students should learn how to use the language in various situations by adapting their language to the situation they are in. Some manuals state that they correspond with the Swedish curriculum GY2011, which means that they should treat various cultural phenomena from various Hispanic countries. This literature review investigates articles that discuss how the manuals can be used to fulfil the standards set by Skolverket. Moreover it discusses what is considered culture and the problems could appear by not teaching culture in an adequate way.sv
