En mycket märkvärdig flicka: En intersektionell analys av berättelsen om Pippi Långstrump utifrån funktionalitet, genus, ålder och vithet

Abstract
The famous story about Pippi Longstocking has been around for over 70 years and millions of children, generation after generation, has gotten to know the strong little girl who never wants to grow up. 2015 was a new version of the story published. The new version contains almost everything from the three original books, but some parts has been excluded and the ”n-word” has been removed. From a perspective of intersectional feminism and through a method of discourse analysis, this study aims to explore how the character Pippi is constructed as diffrent based on the perspectives functionality, gender, age and whiteness. Secondly, the aim of the study is also to problematize whether her position as different confirms or challenges different power structures. The study concludes that the story reproduces colonial, racist power structures that needs further problematizing, but also that there is a lot of resistance taking place within the construction of Pippis position as different.
