There are two parts to this project. One is my role as co-curator/producer of the exhibition. Also as participating artist. As co-curator, together with two other artist/curators we organized a group exhibition which was planned as part of the satellite program of the Cochin Biennal 2016. The two other curators Nihaal Faizal and Chinar Shah run apartment galleries in Bangalore (G157, Home Sweet Home). We found and hired an apartment, invited artists, hung exhibition, organized and dispersed promotion and catalogue presentation of exhibiting artists, A month before the exhibition, and with all arrangements with artists, and location hired, the biennal organization demanded a fee which was imposed as an afterthought/solution to their budgetary problems to be part of the satellite program. We were accepted to the program for our exhibition, but at that late date it was not worth paying the extra 13,000 SEK to be in the catalogue and on the map. We withdrew from the satellite program but made the exhibition anyway. To compensate we printed information about the exhibition and left at hotels and with auto drivers, The exhibition was well visited, we sold some works and got in contact with some curators, artists and gallerists who could be interesting for future projects. It was interesting to collaborate with another artist (under name Famous Artist) for my own participation and to make a site specific work. Newspapers only wrote about the biennal but we were reviewed in two blogs.
