Managers today face serious challengers and have a lot of pressure in the daily work, they play a key role in the organisation and the results are affected by their performance. The strict requirements affect the health, performance and motivation of the managers. Based on this, it is important that managers are committed and motivated in their daily work. Therefore, the purpose of the essay is to study the motivational factors that primarily motivate managers in the banking sector in their daily work, and further why these factors are more important than other factors. The theoretical framework is based on theories about diverse types of motivational factors. The motivational factors involved in the study are external, internal and interactive factors. Furthermore, the essay uses the theories Herzberg’s Two Factor Theory and Deci and Ryan’s Self-Determination Theory about motivational factors and its impact on working life. The essay has a hermeneutic approach. The abductive study has been conducted based on a qualitative approach. The empirical consists of nine semistructured interviews with bank managers from the same organisation, they all have their offices and work in West Sweden. Further, the data has been transcribed and analysed with inspiration from thematic analysis. The empirical has furthermore been linked and compared with the theory and previous research. The result points out that it is primarily the internal and interactive motivational factors that motivate the essays bank managers in their daily work. The result shows that the motivation factors that primarily motivate the bank managers are the work, development, corporate culture and relationships. There are several different explanatory factors. The results show that the managers' motivators may among other things, depend on their personality for example if they are soft or tough to their personality. It can also depend on a person’s experience, background and childhood, or the reason may be due to the company's structure and corporate culture.sv
