dc.description.abstract | The aim of this essay is to examine how Apartheid as a metaphor is used in German newspapers after the end of the apartheid era in South Africa. The essay proceeds from the linguistic field of Politolinguistik and is a corpus study of four German newspapers. The study shows that the metaphor is used in very different fields and the study establishes that "apartheid" is a productive metaphor in German media text. Out of the in total 4 076 tokens of Apartheid, 698 indicate metaphorical use. The most common phenomenon to be named Apartheid is the situation for different ethnic and religious groups. Other common themes are injustices based on economic differences and circumstances concerning migration and integration. | sv |
