”det är så enkelt / att man måste vara teoretiker för att inte fatta det”. En teoretiserande analys av Vi och Dom i David Väyrynens Marken

Abstract
This essay examines the construction of Us and Them in Swedish author David Väyrynen's poetry collection Marken (2017). These two groups can basically be identified as rural/northern and urban/southern. My aim with this essay has been to examine how – besides from the purely geographic conditions – these identities are being constructured. By applying a close reading method I have analysed how the social and discoursive practices of the subject constitute the distinctions between identities. The identifications with one or another given subject position occur in relation to the Other. Thus, the collective identitites are constituted by combinations of discourses and distinctions, which exist in the lingual content of utterances as well as in the narrative and the literary structure.
