Abstract

This study investigates if a relationship exists between self-control, the effect of Mental Accounting and saving among students. With the help of psychological theory and other scientific studies we have created two factors to examine their effect on saving among students. The data has been extracted from a survey answered by 153 students mainly at the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University. The analysis was done by using statistical tools, mainly different types of regression in order to measure the relationship between the variables. Our analysis provided significant results, especially the positive relationship between self-control and saving among students.
