Makten att beskriva. Ett kritiskt perspektiv på metadata i multimediala arkiv.

The power to describe. A critical perspective on metadata in multimedia archives.

Abstract
The study examines the knowledge produced by three cultural heritage resources through their respective metadata practices. It is performed with a critical perspective on descriptive metadata in multimedia, digital resources for cultural heritage. Through an archive perspective, more specifically a feminist-ethical perspective, the study seeks answers to the question of whether different metadata practices create the conditions for a more or less socially just archive. The empirical study showed in which aspects the metadata practice in the investigated archives affects the user’s knowledge production.
