Come get your honey
Att gestalta en kropp med textila ytor
Abstract
My aim was to shape the body with a processed material as essence. With the help of
"Come get your honey" a theme, I have experimented with the textile surface and shaped it
on a body.
From "Come get your honey" I have taken inspiration from the honeycomb and the
hexagon's shape. There I found depth, surface, structures, textures, honey caves and
cavities to explore. I found tactility and sensuality in the song "Honey" by the music artist
Robyn, and the world of bees; such as honey, pollen, wax and body coating.
The experiment has been the core. Curiosity about the possibilities of the textile material
has been a method, where I have focused on creating textures on the surface. I have
asked myself: What if I do this?
Shaping a body with a processed material as essence was, among other things, for me to
convey the everyday miracles - and I have used the diligent bees and the contents of
"Honey" as reason. But also note that it is a delicate border between presence and absence
of life. At present, there is a threat. The Honeybee society are knocked out, which in turn
affects us humans and our lives on earth.
