Ett miniatyrlandskap i textil och form
Abstract
People seem to prefer symmetrical vegetables and clothes that do not bleach in the sun. I
have a feeling that we today often value the "unnatural" over the perishable and organic.
Have we forgotten who we are and what actually makes us happy? To me, nature and crafts
are connected. I think the handmade is the opposite to the industrially fabricated that
characterizes the efficient society of today. The modern man's separation to nature
fascinates me on a philosophical level. I believe that we have separated ourselves from
nature to the extent that nature often is perceived as foreign – which makes it difficult to
feel a connection. We talk about nature as if it is something external, something we
ourselves are not part of.
In textiles I want to portray my own imaginary, playful and utopian island. – Full of organic
expressions along with the sense of harmony. The small details are of great value. In this
miniature landscape I also want to manifest slow craftsmanship.
