DEN MÅNGTYDIGA SJÖBODEN En undersökning kring sjöbodens och strandskyddets omvandlingsprocess i Bohuslän

The ambiguous "Sjöboden". An investigation into the conversion process of "Sjöboden" and the Coastal Protection in Bohuslän

Abstract
Along the coast of Bohuslän and the fishing villages, it is clear to see traces of the modern welfare society's entry and establishment. The industrialization of the fishing community led to both sparsely populated and urban areas along the coast, where the coastal inhabitants created their community without the involvement of state administration. It is on the natural resources of the sea that the coastal inhabitants have built their existence. Thus, the shift in coastal communities has taken the form of nutritional capture and economy was shifted to something other than fishing. The 2000s, densification and exploitation along the coast of Bohuslän have led to a transformation in the form of privatization. It contributes to complicated dynamics between individual and general interests on several levels, where the common denominator is economics as a crucial resource for accessibility and, paradoxically, the nutritional catch for the coastal community. The coastal towns offer a unique and varied natural and cultural environment where the opportunity for outdoor life and the public right plays an important role, but which also creates conflict between individual and general interests. The Swedish concept “Sjöboden” is an interesting phenomenon from that. Coastal protection along the coast is another. “Sjöboden” is a very important storyteller whose character traits also form an essential cultural identity for the coastal community. The coastal protection is a mainstay in the maintenance of the public interest.
