Abstract
Den här uppsatsen syftar till att undersöka resvanorna hos de anställda inom detaljhandeln i
Göteborgsregionen. I studien identifieras skillnader i val av färdmedel hos de anställda på
Frölunda torg och de butiker som är belägna innanför vallgraven i Göteborgs centrum. En
enkätundersökning av kvantitativ karaktär utgör grunden för studiens empiri.
Tidigare arbeten och forskning kring hållbar mobilitet utgör den teoretiska grunden för denna
studie. Därutöver har de teoretiska begreppen time-space convergence och aktivitetsansatsen
använts i kombination med tidigare resvaneundersökningar från Göteborgs Stad. Resultatet av
enkätundersökningen i denna studie visar att det finns skillnader i val av färdmedel mellan de
anställda på Frölunda torg och innanför vallgraven. Primärt reser de anställda på båda
arbetsplatserna i stor utsträckning med kollektivtrafik. Detta tyder på att de anställda inom
detaljhandeln i Göteborg innehar mer hållbara resvanor än den genomsnittlige invånaren i
staden.
Description
This thesis aims to study the travel habits of the employees in retailing within the region of
Gothenburg. In particular, the thesis aims to identify differences in modes of travel between
employees from the peripherally located retailing area of Frölunda torg and the businesses
located within the moat in the center of the city. The empirics of this thesis rests on the data
collected from a poll survey of quantitative design.
The theoretics of this thesis draws from earlier work and studies, foremost that of sustainable
mobility. Supplementary to this is the theory of time-space convergence and
aktivitetsansatsen, which are used in conjunction to earlier travel surveys conducted by the
city of Gothenburg. The results of this survey show that the usage of different modes of travel
varies between the employees from the two studied retailing areas. The employees from both
retailing areas distinguish themselves by primarily traveling with public transport.
Additionally, the results show that in general, employees working within retailing have far
more sustainable travel habits than the average citizen of the region.
