#METOO- MER ÄN EN HASHTAG? En komparativ framinganalys av resolutioner från Europaparlamentet före och efter #metoo

Sammanfattning
The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to investigate whether there has been a change in the representation of violence against women by the European parliament before and after #metoo. The analytical framework provided uses a theory of framing which focuses on intepreting some parts of a text and discuss it. The overall research question is: How does the European parliament frame violence against women before and after #metoo? The method used to answer the question is a qualitative text analysis of eight resolutions made by the European Parliament. The result demonstrates that there has been a difference in how the European parliament frames the issue of violence against women. The difference exists in who is seen as causing the problem and in who should solve the problem. In the resolutions before #metoo men tend to be a part of the problem but not a part of the solution. However, the resolutions after tend to adress that men should be part of preventing violence against women from happening. The patriarchal structures are problematised more to an extent after #metoo than before. I conclude that there has been a change in how the European parliament chooses to frame violence against women.
