dc.description.abstract | In this project I want to combine working with textiles with digital image editing.
I want to digitize something material and materialize something digital, to re-create a digital image into a textile work. For this I investigate Instagram to get a context for my case.
I want to examine an aesthetic that involves consumption and beauty.
From this I am creating a method that makes craft an exciting tool and with which, we can explore the contemporary that surrounds us. Thus, we can work in a process that is both analog and digital.
I want to investigate how the material changes as I work with it through various textile techniques and through that find a way to process it so that the textiles get a digital feeling.
I work with pictures in Photoshop where I manipulate them in different ways and I transfer them to interpretations in textiles. The work involves collective contemporary emotions regarding the need to fit in. I hope to say something about our digital-present. | sv |
