Hur religionskunskapslärare närmar sig undervisning om etik i religionskunskapsämnet: En intervjustudie med ämneslärare för gymnasiet

Abstract
Ethics education (ED) is a significant part of the curriculum for religious education (RE) in Sweden. The fact that pupils in Sweden must take part in ED to receive a grade in RE is problematic, as there is limited research available in ethics didactics. Skolinspektionen, the agency responsible for supervision and quality control of schools in Sweden describe in an official report that ED, overall, in Sweden is inadequate. This study aims to acquire knowledge of how teachers who feel that they have succeeded with their tutoring in ED manage planning, what content to be taught and how they execute their teaching. Using Tuana's theory of Moral Literacy, this study shows that the teachers interviewed for this project give their pupils every tool needed to develop moral literacy. The secret lies in using contemporary content that is emotionally close to the pupils. For success in ED, the most crucial aspect is to develop a feeling that the content is in contact with the pupils' reality.
