Kulturmiljöer, förvaltning och klimatförändringar En kvalitativ fallstudie om Gathenhielmska kulturreservatet som ett social-ekologiskt system

Sammanfattning
This papers aim is to investigate how cultural landscapes and management relate to climate patterns and some of its consequences. By doing so, the paper also seeks to apply Elinor Ostroms general framework for analyzing sustainability in social-ecological systems (2007, 2009; McGinnis & Ostrom, 2014). In recent years, cultural heritage has been recognized as being under serious threat from climate change of various forms. Extreme weather, raising see levels, wildfires et cetera, are all capable of damaging and destroying landscapes and the built environment. Because of this, heritage planning has now set its focus on how to adapt cultural landscapes to environmental hazards. In the nexus between cultural landscapes, management and the climate, there is a strong emphasis on sustainability. And this is where the idea of social-ecological systems come in hand. In this study a specific cultural heritage landscape in Gothenburg is conceptualized as a social-ecological system, with the purpose to better understand how the landscape and the associated management interlinks with some of the climate patterns in western Sweden. Furthermore, if this dynamic relationship is understood as a social-ecological system, the studies ambition is to provide some answers on how the associated management work with sustainability.
