FÖRUTSÄTTNINGAR OCH HINDER FÖR EN LÄRANDE ORGANISATION - En kvalitativ studie av ett industriföretag
Abstract
The manufacturing industry faces major challenges where rapid technological development with increased digitization and robotization affects the companies' environment as well as their internal processes. To create environments where both technology and personnel can develop, understanding of working conditions in today's industrial companies and what the conditions for change look like, is needed. The purpose of this study is to map the production staff's organization and work processes with a focus on organizational learning and development at a medium-sized Swedish industrial company. The intention is to gain an increased understanding of obstacles and promoting factors for learning and development among staff in an industrial production environment. Through a qualitative approach, a case study has been made at an industrial company. Observations and interviews have been conducted and the results show that the company has for a long time been in a vulnerable position that has affected future trust, ability, and resources for learning, which has contributed to goals and basic values differing between operational and management levels. The main external contextual factor that affects the company is the transition to electrification of the vehicle industry. Through a strong focus on economic survival, efficiency in processes through Lean in particular, has meant that learning in larger loops (double-loop-learning) has not taken place to any great extent in the operational activities. This in turn has also contributed to the two-part mental models that exist between senior management and the operational level and created a lack of confidence and motivation to contribute to development.
