dc.descriptionTo examine communicative ability in a group 6-year-old children screened positive for late language development at 2.5 years the parental questionnaire Children's Communication Checklist-2 was used. Based on formal language assessment, 85 children were distributed into 3 groups based on language ability. Results were compared with Swedish norms, between groups and with clinical assessment. The whole group had significant lower results compared to the norm group. In 5 of the 10 subscales. No significant difference was found between groups. In contrast, group results differed compared to Swedish norms on certain subscales. In children with language disorder diagnosis, 13% were identified with language difficulties according to the Children's Communication Checklist-2. No significant correlation was found between ability to participate in clinical assessment and the subscales for pragmatic ability. Results indicate that both parents' reports and formal assessment are crucial for broad knowledge of the child's functional communication.en
dc.description.abstractI syfte att undersöka kommunikativ förmåga hos en grupp 6-åriga barn som identifierats med sen språkutveckling vid 2,5 års ålder användes föräldraformuläret Children's Communication Checklist-2. De 85 barnen delades efter logopedisk bedömning in i 3 grupper utifrån språklig förmåga. Resultatet från formuläret jämfördes med svensk normering, grupperna sinsemellan samt med klinisk bedömning. För hela gruppen fanns signifikant lägre resultat än normgrupp i 5 av 10 delskalor. Ingen signifikant skillnad återfanns mellan grupperna. Däremot skiljde sig grupperna åt jämfört med den svenska normeringen på vissa delskalor. Av barn med språklig diagnos identifierades 13% med språkliga svårigheter i formuläret. Ingen signifikant korrelation fanns mellan logopedisk bedömning av medverkan och delskalorna för pragmatisk förmåga i Children's Communication Checklist-2. Resultatet indikerar att både föräldrars och logopeds bedömning behövs för bred kunskap om barnets funktionella kommunikation.en
