| dc.description | This bachelor's thesis investigates the perceived roles of municipal planners in their professional practice in Sweden. The purpose of this thesis is to examine in a Swedish context the perceived roles of municipal planners in their professional practice and how these roles affect their view of their profession and of planning as a practice in the creation and transformation of the physical space. Empirical data has been collected through qualitative interviews with four planners who are currently and actively working with planning at a Swedish municipality. The interviews were transcribed and thematically coded on the basis of a theoretical framework based on previous research in the field. The results show that municipal planners can be labeled on the basis of existing planner roles and that this has an impact on how they perceive their professional practice. Furthermore, the results show that several planner roles can coexist within the same planner. This indicates a complexity and demonstrates the need for a problematization of planner roles and their use. | en |
| dc.description.abstract | Denna kandidatuppsats undersöker kommunala planerares upplevda roller i sitt yrkesutövande i Sverige. Syftet med uppsatsen är att i en svensk kontext undersöka kommunala planerares upplevda roller i sitt yrkesutövande och hur dessa roller påverkar deras syn på sitt yrke och på planering som praktik i skapandet och omdanandet av det fysiska rummet. Empiriska data har samlats in genom kvalitativa intervjuer med fyra planerare som nu aktivt jobbar med planering vid en svensk kommun. Intervjuerna transkriberades och kodades tematiskt utifrån ett teoretiskt ramverk baserat på tidigare forskning på området. Resultatet visar att kommunala planerare kan etiketteras utifrån befintliga planerarroller och att detta har en påverkan på hur de uppfattar sitt yrkesutövande. Vidare visar resultatet att flera planerarroller kan samexistera inom samma planerare. Detta tyder på en komplexitet och påvisar behovet av en problematisering av planerarroller och dess användning. | en |
