Corporate Social Responsibility Hela företagets ansvar? En fallstudie om medarbetarnas delaktighet i CSR-arbetet hos ÖrebroBostäder AB
Sammanfattning
The purpose of this thesis is to describe and analyse the employees involvement in CSR work
from an employee perspective. In the public eye a company's CSR work will become empty
words if the employees do not also become an informal external source of communication. This
source as the employees will be seen as more trustworthy that the company's own policy
documents and web page. The importance of getting the employees motivated and committed to
the CSR work is a vital part of communicating CSR to external parties. To form a beneficial
participation of employees in CSR work a company will need three internal strategies: Have a
good internal communication, increase motivation and create a deeper engagement. This study is
at ÖrebroBostäder AB, the biggest landlord in Örebro with 408 employees. Interviews have been
done with six respondents. The result from these interviews concluded that involvement is driven
from the below:
➔ Information about CSR work both on detail- and general level, is favourable via a verbal
communication channel
➔ Involvement in decisions and opportunity to influence decisions that have an impact on
their own work
➔ Feedback and encouragement about what employees can execute and their role in CSR
work
➔ Explicit and concrete goals and responsibility for departments and/or individuals.
The results from our case study shows that ÖrebroBostäder AB has the presuppositions of
involvement for the employees in CSR work. Though the involvement is on a lower level and the
internal strategies work to a certain degree, they need to be developed further to optimize the
potential and maximize the profit of CSR work.
