Abstract

This thesis deals with the process of learning the bass trombone as a tenor trombonist. The author explores this by practising the bass trombone, playing in different ensembles and doing interviews with professional players. The work is based on recordings made by the author and the experiences she has gained during the time she has played the bass trombone.
