Hur vi tolkar ritual - om tolkningen av arkeologiskt material som ritualiserat

Abstract
This essay aims to analyse how different archaeologists interpret archaeological remains as ritualistic. It compares different definitions of rituality in archaeology as well as Catherine Bells definition of ritualisation and applies those definitions to select archaeological material, namely Neolithic bog finds, from the Swedish counties of Västra Götaland, Halland and Skåne. The conclusion of the essay is that the ritual definitions posted by the archaeologists Per Karsten and Åsa Berggren is illsuited to analyse the archaeological material in this essay, but that the definitions have a common concept of rituality.
